Disability Service
TADACT Disability Service aims to help people of all ages with any kind of disability, however severe or slight, and the elderly by designing and making, or modifying or repairing equipment to improve the quality of their life. No one is excluded. There are no limitations with respect to age, means or disability. The problems and their solutions can range from the very simple to the quite complex; they could be needed for a wide variety of purposes, such as sport and recreation, home life, the workplace and education. Enquiry and Assessment Enquiries come to the TADACT office from all sources, including referrals by health professionals, for example Ocupational and Physio Therapists, the people with disabilities themselves or their carers, community health and disability service organisations and special schools. Some enquiries may be satisfied by the provision of advice or by being referred to another organisation. The remaining ones are investigated and assessed by the Technical Projects Officer. The extent of the initial investigation depends on the nature of the enquiry; where appropriate, it will include calling on the advice of health professionals.
